A Cleanrate of 100 % for BORA – fresh air for more fun while cooking.
Up to now, the performance potential of extractor hoods has been evaluated in accordance with DIN EN 61591. In the process, the performance of the fan, the odour reduction and the grease removal are measured. Moreover, by determining the MEK value (methyl ethyl ketone percentage in the air) the degree of reduction of the smells and vapours produced during cooking can be measured. In order to be able to objectively compare the efficiency of various vapour extraction systems with each other, the Cleanrate procedure was developed.
The Cleanrate is the name given to the purity level of the air while cooking. The higher odour particles are allowed to rise, the more they contaminate the air in the kitchen. Conventional extractor hoods only draw off about 60 % of the cooking vapours. BORA reaches a tested Cleanrate of 100 % at direct head height – a value conventional extractor hoods can only dream about.
